put upon
Though I'm not sure whether the following example is correct or not, still I've learned new phrase of verb today. In addition, I' also uncertain about the ending of the story entitled "Don Quixote". What would happen on them at the end?
Sancho Panza might be put upon by Don Quixote.
- put upon
- to impose hardship on; maltreat
Note
"Don Quixote" is a very nice novel and very old too. It is said to be the first modern European novel which was first published in 1965. It is written by Miguel de Cervantes. The story is all about the adventures of Don Quixote who is the main character. Actually this novel reflects about the event during this time in Spain and its genre is satyre, parody, farce. It is also a Picaresque novel.
