Blessing in disguise
I failed an exam to enter a company last year. But the company was reportedly bankrupted. It was a blessing in disguise.
It means a hidden luck. It looks like a person is unlucky at the first moment but, it will change at the last.
We also have similar proverb in Japanese. "Banji saiou ga uma." Once upon a time, there was a guy. One day, he fell down from his horse and he broke his leg. He felt unhappy at that time. However, his country would begin a war and the young guys from his village went to the war and died. He couldn't go because of his broken leg. So, he survived from the war.
